Cleardox and cBrain, in collaboration with the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, have entered into a technical partnership resulting in an integration between cBrain's F2 system and Cleardox´ redaction software. This anonymization solution enables public case handlers to retrieve and redact documents with a single click without having to download them locally, thereby increasing both security and user-friendliness. The collaboration also opens up new possibilities for fully automated anonymization, aligning with the forthcoming AI legislation.
About cBrain cBrain is a Danish technology company founded in 2002, specializing in software solutions for digital transformation. Their flagship product, F2, is an integrated case and document management system used to streamline administrative processes. cBrain serves many Danish public institutions and is publicly traded. The company focuses on increasing efficiency and supporting a paperless environment.
Integration between Cleardox and cBrain Cleardox and cBrain have recently entered into a technical partnership resulting in an integration between F2 and Cleardox´ redaction tool. This integration allows public sector case handlers to use Cleardox' redaction software solution without having to download documents locally, then upload and anonymize them in Cleardox, and finally save them back to F2.
Frejdie Søndergaard-Gudmandsen from cBrain states that the goal is not just to deliver software but an end-to-end solution that supports specific needs. Therefore, we integrate with relevant datasets and tools. The public sector spends a lot of time on freedom of information requests, and F2 supports the entire process from retrieval to approval of responses. By facilitating anonymizations in documents, we improve this process, making collaboration with Cleardox natural for further developing F2 as the preferred document management solution.
User Experience and Security With the integration, case handlers using F2 can transfer the document directly to Cleardox' redaction tool with a single click, anonymize the document, and save it directly back to F2. According to Mads Kragh Bruun from the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, security and user-friendliness are usually each other's opposites. But in this case, they are united. With the integration, it has become more secure to use Cleardox' redaction tool, as the user does not have to download locally. At the same time, user-friendliness has increased as it saves a lot of clicks for the user. And as the Danish Environmental Protection Agency has many freedom of information cases annually, it adds up quickly.
Outlook In addition to facilitating the current workflow for preparing freedom of information cases, the collaboration opens up a range of possibilities. cBrain is working on a variety of AI projects, and Cleardox will soon launch a fully automated anonymization solution aimed at anonymizing documents "at scale" with limited human involvement. This makes it easy to use your own data on already pre-trained LLM models without compromising the new AI act.
Future Knowledge Sharing According to Oliver from Cleardox, traditional knowledge sharing in the form of curated content will be outdated in the future. Instead, all text-produced content will be subject to knowledge sharing, available to pre-trained AI models. Instead of deleting documents after the GDPR deletion deadline, it will be possible to anonymize and retain its content.
This collaboration between Cleardox and cBrain represents a significant development in anonymization technology and sets the stage for future fully automated anonymization software in public administration.
